Are All Fans Noisy

Fans And White Noise

Anyone who doesn’t have central air conditioning knows that one of the worst things about summertime is the need to have several noisy fans running all the time to cool off a room. It seems like the white noise generated by fans is just one of those annoyances that people have to put up with when the summer gets warm, but that’s not necessarily the case. Fan noise doesn’t have to be a constant annoyance during the summer months when it’s hot and humid outside. Typical fan noise, the electrical type sound associated with most fans, especially oscillating fans, doesn’t have to ruin the summer. One of the first things to do when trying to reduce fan noise is to check and see if the fan has an air purifier attached to it, if so, turn the air purifier off. The air purifier will be creating additional noise. Consider getting a separate air purifier and running the air purifier and fan separately in order to reduce the noise. Some discount stores now carry a combination heater, fan, and air purifier that can take care of all the possible temperature needs that a person could have eliminating the need to have three or four separate items to control the temperature depending on the season.

If A Fan Is Unusually Noisy

If a fan is being unusually loud or makes an unusual amount of noise after running for a period there could be something wrong. The first thing to do to see if the noise can be reduced is to check the fan belt. If the fan belt is loose it could be causing a lot of the extra noise. Hearing a loud noise when turning the fan selection setting? It’s probably a fan belt malfunction. It may be time to invest in a new fan. If the noise of a fan is truly becoming a problem then the best thing to do is replace the fan with a fan that is specially designed to be a low noise emitting fan. There are low noise floor fans and normal box fans and low noise duct fans that can help reduce the noise of a central air conditioning and heating unit. To install a low noise duct fan in a heating and air conditioning system be sure to call a professional to do the installation, when the weather is really warm outside it’s not a good time to have a broken air conditioner.
